Online COVID Academy

Welcome to the NDCSC Online COVID Academy!

We are happy to provide this option to our students for the 2020-21 school year. This page will serve as an information hub to support students and parents/guardians in this process. There are many new experiences involved, but know that just as we strive for excellence in our in person instruction, we do as well with our online format. See below for the steps involved in the registration/enrollment process and also for more detail in expectations.

The Latest Video Update

Click here or on the Edmentum image above to access the latest video update from Ms. Taggart (NDCSC Director of Curriculum & Technology) 9.16.2020

Step 1: North Daviess Registration

All parents/guardians need to complete registration through North Daviess' student information system (Harmony) and complete the local application form for the NDCSC COVID Academy. Each school principal will contact parents/guardians to communicate expectations. If applicable, special education case conferences will take place.

Step 2: NDCSC Dir of Curriculum & Technology Submits Student Information to Edmentum

This step takes place only after both the building principal and superintendent have approved each student for the NDCSC online academy. Additional requirements might apply at this stage as well. Edmentum will send an informational message to all parents/guardians at this point that includes login credentials. This is information only and no login action will be possible, yet.

Step 3: NDCSC Dir of Curriculum & Technology Assigns Classes

Classes are assigned to all students K-12 that most closely align to the in person instruction currently taking place. Grades 9-12 will be assigned classes that most closely align to a student's academic plan.

Step 4: Edmentum Assigns Teacher(s) to Student

This typically takes place within a few days of step 3.

Step 5: Edmentum Teacher Contacts Student/Guardian

Contact will take place in the form of an email and a telephone call.

Step 6: Complete Online Orientation and Begin Classes

It's strongly encouraged to complete any type of online orientation that Edmentum offers. After the first five steps listed above are completed, the student should be ready to begin classwork. Steps one through six typically take place over the span of a week.
